May is Motorcycle Awareness Month, a month dedicated to promoting motorcycle safety and honoring those we’ve lost. For us at the D Torch Foundation, this month holds profound significance. It’s a time to remember our beloved son, Donnell “D Torch” Floyd, Jr., whose life was tragically cut short in a motorcycle accident
In his memory, we are committed to raising awareness and fostering safer roads for all riders.
Motorcyclists are among the most vulnerable on our road. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), in 2023, motorcyclists were 28 times more likely than passenger car occupants to die in a crash per mile traveled vehicle. These sobering statistics underscore the importance of vigilance and safety for both riders and drivers.
This May let’s come together to honor Donnell’s legacy and advocate for safer roads.
Together, we can create a safer environment for all riders and ensure that the memory of those we’ve lost continues to inspire positive change.
